Hi Ladies,
a lesson about the displacement map...don't know where that is?
effects>distortion effects>displacement map
i have so enjoyed playing with this effect that i've collected a TON of displacement maps... :giggle
so..let's see what it can do...here is Rosita's summer garden pic:
and, here it is after i've used a displacement map on part of it...
can you see a difference? Look closely. The difference is subtle. You might have to have both pics open at the same time and flip back and forth between the two. But, you should see a bit of a difference on the left side.
Now, i don't know about y'all..when i look at my lawn.it's kinda bumpy looking..textures, shading...etc...
so, i took Rosita's result into my psp and played with the displacement map settings to try to make the left side of her lawn look a bit more dimensional..like my lawn.
First i used the freehand tool set to point to point anti-alias checked and selected a bit of the lawn.
Then, i played with the various displacement maps and the settings until i came up with something that i thought worked...here are the settings i used:
So, anyway...that's the displacement map...and here are some tutorials that will help you get to know this tool a bit better.

Turn in one result of your choice for this lesson..You can use my mini-tutorial, if you choose..but i would like you to at least read the others so you can get some idea of just how varied and powerful this tool can be.
have fun
