do we have any GetSmile users here? any GIF collectors.

im mad about gifs.. omg, its just a collecting frenzy for me to find gif sites!

can i trade gifs with anyone? love hearts, butterflies, love stuff, and blinkies,
etc..

if you know of any good gif sites so that i can build my get smilie collection, i'd love that!

Hi Su, I have GetSmile and love it. Here's how to add new smilies, but basically it's drag and drop from the browser to your GetSmile.
"Here are the steps you need to follow in order to add new smilies to GetSmile. Let's assume you see the desired smilie in front of you in the Web browser window. It's time to add it to GetSmile. You have two choices:
A. If your Web browser supports smilie drag&drop (Internet Explorer 4.0+, Mozilla 1.0+, maybe some others) do it via drag&drop. Click some smilie in your Web browser window and without releasing the left mouse button move the mouse pointer over the GetSmile field. Release the button. Wait a little until GetSmile download and check new smilie. That's it.
B. If your Web browser do not support smilie drag&drop or you have some reason to not use it there is another way available. Right click a smilie in you browser window. Smilie context menu should appear. Copy the smilie URL to the Windows clipboard by using the appropriate menu command (Copy image address or something).
Now right click the GetSmile field and from its context menu select Create New -> Create From Clipboard. Press OK to confirm creation of new smilie. Wait a little until GetSmile downloads and checks it. Done.
It may happen that GetSmile cannot download or recognize new smilie. Some smilies may contain errors. In all these cases GetSmile labels such a smilie with a red cross. You can safely delete such marked smilie as it is absolutely useless."

are organized properly- i will hopefully get a tutorial out later on this week with a
'how to make your own gsml file'.

I have my own private gsml files which i wont pass so my photobucket doesnt
go bonkers on bandwidth usage.. but I will show you how I made mine in a lesson laters on.

install the above = removing the paks you dont like, keeping the ones you enjoy..
customize getsmile.. its the funniest toy you will ever have.

and yes, it works in emails of all sorts.. use it in yahoo all the time!

Here is a quick how to with GETSMILE

after you have installed getsmile, and become familiar with dragging
and dropping your smilies to the (email, postarea, shoutbox, etc)-
you can then explore more with your getsmile.

I personally have removed ALL GSML's but do save them in a getsmile folder.
I can install a particular GSML when i feel like it, but i usually use it only then,
then remove it from my current fav getsmilie gsml's.

WHY? when you save your (collection) it all saves AS ONE, and can become a very
big file... so at this point i believe i have only 7 tabs of gsmls, and i only use those.

So lets create a new tab- if you remove all your other gsmls, this will be your FIRST tab.. sooo

THIS IS MY GETSMILE NOW:

I will go to the field button, and click 'create empty field'.

That will open my options to create the name of the new field, color etc:
put in the name of your field (tab)- and select color, and be sure the bottom
is set as IMG code that is what works for me on any type of forum or email.

sideline:
now you must collect gifs, collect all that you enjoy- upload them to photobucket,
or any other reliable image holding service..

then go to photobucket, COPY the url - only the url.. not with the bbcode, just
the direct url and move your mouse around to find the box and click the first line
PASTE- it should paste that url into that area, and create your first smile-
you can also do "create new" create smilie- then paste the url in there, but thats
the long way to do it..

now its very important that you SAVE your gsml before you shut down your pc, or else the getsmile will remove/lose your new gsml.

so add a few, then save it..file/savegsmlas/ give it a name, and
then next time you start up you will have to load it..
file/insert/ browse to your gsml and it will load it up.

then SAVE as, to make it a permanent showing gsml (once your done adding to it)

you will love getsmile as i do- this and flash32 i do not go without..
