Preset shapes, are vector drawn graphics (aka Bezier Curves). They can be made up of "one" vector shape, or "many" vector shapes that are finally grouped to become one preset shape.
When vector shapes are drawn separate from each other, (in other words, you create a "New Vector Layer" while still designing one shape, you can change the color attributes, then group them to become a single shape, that can be modified even after the fact. (Another lesson lol)
Some of what I have made and offer, require you to check the "Retain Style" in order to be able to create them with the exact same colors and shadows.
I have a basic tut for making a "Cherry" on my site that explains all of this much better, how to group vector layers and change the attributes if you are interested.
Hope this helps!
